Overview

Alpha Warranty Services is looking for a Help Desk / Junior Systems Administrator to provide first-tier technical support for the company. Understanding basic networking fundamentals and Windows products are essential skills for this position. Candidates must be able to relate technical terms to non-technical business associates in order to answer questions about installation, operation, configuration, customization, and usage of systems.

 

Responsibilities

  • Act as first point of contact for providing basic technical support for users on desktop, laptops, servers & various other hardware and software. Escalate to senior engineers when needed
  • Apply basic diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes and recommend solutions to correct common failures.
  • Various hardware and software installations
  • Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
  • Must be comfortable with Microsoft products including Windows 10 and Server 2012 R2, among other Microsoft products
  • Thirst for knowledge to keep up on the cutting edge of technology
  • Willingness to work at a variety of work sites to keep your daily work interesting, Mileage re-imbursement available

Qualifications

  • Preferable but not required: Associates degree in IT/Computer Science, or industry related certifications
  • 3 + year's experience in Systems Administration
  • Strong problem solving skills - the professional IT person will look to you for additional support and you will be responsible for probing for additional sales opportunities
  • Must have ability to work independently and in team environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Products, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, MS Office Suites, Firewall knowledge, Windows Server, Microsoft Small Business Server, Microsoft Exchange, Networking
